GRAD EVENTS


GRAD FUN PARK NIGHT

An opportunity for Grade 12 students to spend a fun-filled evening playing arcade games, bowling, roller skating, mini golfing, signing karaoke, playing laser tag, and so much more!

Pizza, snacks, and drinks will be provided!


GRAD AUCTION

  • Date:  Thursday, November 27, 2025
  • Time:  5:00 pm doors open/ 6:00 pm dinner / live auction approx. 7:00 pm
  • Cost:   $30 / Table of 6 $180 (Reserved Seating) / Table of 10 $270 (Reserved Seating)
  • Grad Auction Theme: Christmas
  • Location:  Sardis Secondary
  • On Sale: Tickets will be available on Student Quickpay on October 14, 2025

Grade 12 students are asked to bring in business and community donations in the form of product or gift certificates prior to the event.  50% of the value of the auctioned donation will go directly into the student's grad account to go towards reducing graduation tickets (prom, dry grad and grad fun park night).  The remainder of the funds raised go toward reducing graduation event costs and supporting student scholarships for our Grad Legacy Fund.

Things to note:

  • Some examples of previous auction items include: gift cards, waterpark passes, sporting event tickets, hotel or resort stays, golf course gift cards, fishing charter certificates, and tangible items such as gift baskets.
  • Please note, we do not accept donations of alcohol; however, gift cards to liquor stores or wineries are acceptable.
  • You can bring any donations you collect into the office beginning in September and up to November 13, 2025.

GRAD PHOTOS

  • Date:  January January 5-9th and January 12-16th by Appointment - The booking link will be added here and sent home when available.

 All Grade 12’s must get a grad photo completed as the photo will be in the yearbook and the grad composite photo that hangs in the school.

Grad Photo Retakes are scheduled for February 19-20th.


COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY 

  • Date:  Friday, June 5, 2026
  • Time:  5:00pm Grads | 6:00pm Guests
  • Location:  Coliseum
  • Cost: The Graduation Fee of $100.00 covers the cost of grad gown, cap, tassel, stole, memento, one 5x7 grad photo and diploma, facility rental, and decorations.
  • Tickets: Four complementary tickets are given to each student. Four extra tickets available for purchase ($8) on Student Quickpay. If you need more than the 8 tickets, please email sss-finance@sd33.bc.ca with your request.
  • Dress: This is a formal ceremony so grads are asked to dress accordingly. Please come to the ceremony already dressed in your gown with appropriate formal dress underneath. Gowns must be worn throughout the ceremony.

This is a formal ceremony sponsored by the staff and administration of Sardis Secondary School for parents and the community.  


BANQUET AND DANCE

  • Date:  Wednesday, June 25, 2026
  • Time:  5:00 pm
  • Cost:  $TBA
  • Location:  Clarion Hotel, Abbotsford (by bussing only)
  • On Sale: April 1 - June 14 on Student Quickpay
  • Table Seating - Complete your Banquet Table Seating Form - Link will be provided when open!

As the Banquet and Dance is the culminating social event of the grade 12 year, school administration has a responsibility to ensure that all guests in attendance will conduct themselves appropriately, be respectful to all other graduates and guests, and comply with requests/follow direction from school staff. 

Please note:

  • All guests must be a secondary student (grades 10-12) from the Chilliwack School District.
  • All guests will be required to have a character reference from an SD#33 school principal or vice-principal.
  • For all grad functions outside of the City of Chilliwack, transportation will be provided by the School District, and it is expected that the guest will use the provided transportation.
  • Guest Applications for Banquet and Dance are available here (link provided when available) and in the office. 

The Banquet and Dance is a formal event where students get to dress up and spend a very memorable evening together. Grads will share in a gourmet buffet dinner. There will be speeches (short ones), and then Grads dance the night away.


DRY GRAD

  • Date:  Wednesday, June 25, 2026
  • Time:  11:00 pm - 5:00 am
  • Cost:  $TBA
  • Location: Landing Sports Center, 45530 Spadina Avenue
  • On Sale:  Tickets will be available on Student Quickpay

Once the Banquet and Dance is over the night is just beginning!  There are plenty of fun things to do including casino games, character artists, games, bands, food and drinks.  Grads should wear comfortable clothing and shoes as this is an activity-packed event.

Meetings will be held at 7:00pm in the Clover Room at the Landing Sports Centre at 45530 Spadina Avenue. Everyone welcome!
